The KCMC University, in collaboration with Imperial College London, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position to investigate arbovirus transmission dynamics across Africa within the context of a changing climate.
Eligibility
- A Master of Science (MSc) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics is preferred.
- Applicants with a background in health-related fields will also be considered.
- Evidence of computational skills, particularly experience with R software (and potentially other programming languages such as C or Python), and machine learning is highly desirable.
- A minimum MSc GPA of 4.0 is preferred.
- An undergraduate degree with first or upper-second class honors, or equivalent, is preferred.
- Applicants must be Tanzanian.

Project Overview
The successful applicant will develop a concept note on modeling arboviruses across Africa and the impact of interventions in a changing climate.

Studentships will typically be for three to four years,

We seek a highly motivated and proactive individual with strong analytical and computational skills. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
